The inspiring Lake District V (Sitting, waiting, wishing)

Listening to the tune “I was sitting, waiting, wishing …” from Jack Johnson while exactly doing this on Latrigg Hilltop (386 m) for a glimpse of sun light to recolour the shapes of the distant fells and their magical appearance before vanishing behind the clouds. I was lucky, it happened, and this is what I got.

To select, combine and concentrate that which is beautiful in nature and admirable in art is as much the business of the landscape painter in his line as in the other departments of art. – J.M.W. Turner
