Data protection and Privacy according to GDPR guidelines

According to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) the following data is processed and stored on this website under these specific functions. Please consult the GDPR for more information.

  • Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection are collected.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

  • Contact form
When visitors fill out the contact form the data shown in the form, and also the visitor’s IP address are collected for the purpose of replying.

If a comment is left you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience to avoid refilling your details again on another comment and will last for one year.

Analytics and Data sharing

When you visit this site your access is automatically logged by the web server including name and location of the retrieved page, date and time, transferred amount of data, http status code, browser user agent, operating system, referrer url, IP address and the calling provider in a so-called logfile. Your data is at no time shared with or transferred to Third parties or processed in any other way than for its sole statistical purpose.

How long is the data retained

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so to recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

The server logfile is retained indefinitely for administrative and security reasons.

For users that register on this website (if any), the personal information they provide in their user profile is also stored. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data including any data you have provided to this site. You can also request to erase any personal data that is hold about you. This does not include any data which are obliged to keep for administrative, legal or security purposes.

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
